TEYL Certification Course

Teaching English to Young Learners

Via Lingua's expert trainers in Porto, Portugal have designed the TEYL Course for those teachers who wish to gain experience and a qualification in the challenging field of teaching young children. This intensive 2-week course, offered since the summer of 2003, offers those teachers who already have a recognized first teaching qualification (Via Lingua TEFL certificate or equivalent from another recognized course provider) the chance to further their skills and gain employment in this increasingly competitive and expanding market.

Intensive 2-week course, 60 hours of tuition, including 6 hours of real practical observed teaching with groups of young learners or varying levels.

Timetable

Along a similar daily framework to the standard Via Lingua course. 9am to 6pm, 5 days a week, total of 60 hours minimum over 2 weeks.

Content

input sessions, lesson planning, teaching practices, teaching observations, feedback sessions, course project and assignments. Full breakdown and academic content available on request.

Other Information

All TEYL graduates receive a separate certificate and letter of recommendation detailing the course content and their individual performance in all course aspects. Job guidance and help in finding employment teaching children is also given.

All graduates of this program become eligible for Via Lingua's job assistance and guidance programs around the world, irrespective of where they obtained their original TEFL certificate.
